Xeno Drift

Xeno Drift

Two ways out. Four ways to die.

Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play

Khepri Six went dark seventeen days ago. You are Employee #426223, and your assignment is artefact retrieval: three Anchors, from a research station orbiting the Nadir Black Hole. Command considers a xeno-specimen outbreak the most probable cause of the blackout. Failure to retrieve the Anchors will result in immediate termination.

Xeno Drift is a turn-based survival horror roguelike built for short, tense runs. Ten to fifteen minutes to the bottom of the station, or to whatever finds you first.

Three sectors, twenty-five rooms in the first and fewer in each one after. The station lays itself out differently every run, and the only way to learn a room is to open it. Thirty-four events wait in those rooms, each a decision you can read before you commit and cannot take back after.

Twenty-three creatures stand between you and the Anchors, and each one carries a mutation that changes how the fight works. Bulletproof things that ignore your weapon. Kleptophilic things that take your equipment. Ravenous things that destroy your ammunition. Working out what a creature is doing to you is most of surviving it.

Terror, Despair and Psychosis fill up separately from your health. Fill any one of them and the run ends, whatever your health says. There are two ways to survive Khepri Six and four ways to die on it.

Title screen: the Xeno Drift logo above an orange xeno-specimen on a black terminal display
Sector one map: a diamond grid of rooms, most still unexplored, with health, oxygen and ammo across the top
Lone Survivor event: a researcher in a life-support pod, with the choice to divert her oxygen or raid the stockpile
Pristine Room event in sector two, rendered in teal: a room the station schematics say should not exist
Combat against the Vein Orchard, a carnivorous creature that removes one maximum health per hit
Combat against the Lacuna with the fire option selected, showing the damage the shot will deal
Possessions event in sector three, rendered in yellow: personal belongings arranged in careful rows
Run summary after a successful escape, listing cells explored, monsters killed and anchors retrieved

Key Features

A Station That Moves

Three sectors that lay themselves out differently every descent. The only way to learn a room is to open it.

Thirty-Four Events

Supplies, corpses, and rooms that should not exist. Every choice can be read before you commit and never taken back.

Twenty-Three Creatures

Each carries a mutation that changes the fight: bulletproof, kleptophilic, ravenous, corrosive. Read it or lose to it.

Four Ways to Die

Terror, Despair and Psychosis fill separately from your health, and any one of them full ends the run on its own.

Built for One Hand

Portrait, turn-based, no virtual stick and no reflexes. It waits for you, so a whole run fits in a queue.
